Our junior seminar class is split into two parts, our junior project, and our Build a Life project. This was our first assignment regarding the Build a Life project. We had to fill out a job application for a job we may have in the future or even a current job we have now. I filled out an application for my current job which is hostessing. It was a real application but we never actually submitted them. This assignment is a very good experience for all of us to have and learn from because we're at the age of getting jobs and having responsibilities. I feel this assignment best addresses business literacy and financial literacy because it teaches us about how things in the business world work and financially. After all, we had to figure out the taxes that would be taken out to see how much we would make after taxes. I am most proud of how “professional” I was on this assignment, it required me to think about how I was wording things as if it was real. I would say the most difficult part of this assignment was thinking about why I would be fit for the job and explaining it professionally. I could improve by learning more about my profession. If I could start over I would put more research and data into my job application.
