The Honeycreeper project was a project where you could see the world from a Hawaiian Honeycreeper's point of view. I was to write a six paragraph essay in first person format from the perspective of one of these birds. The point of this project was to see how evolution and adaptive radiation works.
I choose to use this project as one of my work samples because I really like the way it turned out and I spent a long time working on this project. It was interesting to see life from another perspective and realize how much effect us humans have on other living things environments.
I feel that this project addresses the global awareness 21st century skill because in this project I saw how much these birds are globally affected. Most of these birds have gone extinct and the ones that are left are just barely hanging on.
This project was overall fun, it was a little challenging trying to explain life as if I were a bird but I figured it out and along the way learned a lot about a bird I didn't even know existed.
If we were to ever do a project like this again I would make a rough draft first and try to organize my ideas better. Other than that I am most proud of the commitment I put into my Hawaiian Honeycreeper project.
